This private tour combines Iceland’s most iconic natural landmarks with carefully selected culinary experiences, offering a full-day journey through landscapes, local flavors, and contemporary Icelandic cuisine.
Your day begins at Þingvellir National Park, where you explore the historic and geological heart of Iceland before continuing to Laugarvatn Fontana for a unique geothermal food experience. Here, traditional Icelandic rye bread is baked underground using natural heat and served fresh with Icelandic trout. Next, you visit Efstidalur Farm, where you enjoy homemade Icelandic ice cream made from locally sourced dairy products.
The journey continues to the active geothermal field of Geysir, home to bubbling hot springs and erupting geysers, where you experience Iceland’s geothermal power firsthand as Strokkur sends boiling water high into the air at regular intervals.
During this part of the trip, guests will have the opportunity to sample fermented shark (hákarl), followed by a tasting of Brennivín (Icelandic schnapps), with Icelandic chocolate available afterward to cleanse the palate.
From Geysir, you travel to the dramatic Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial waters plunge into a deep canyon. Walking along the viewing platforms, you take in panoramic views of one of Iceland’s most powerful and iconic natural landmarks. We stop for lunch at Gullfoss café and enjoy traditional Icelandic lamb soup (vegan options available).
In the afternoon, you visit a local greenhouse Fontana where you can learn about sustainable food production in Iceland. Guests may relax in the wine lounge and have a small dish or drink if they choose (at their own expense).
The experience continues at Laugarás Lagoon, where you unwind in naturally heated geothermal waters surrounded by Iceland’s quiet countryside. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and shower amenities are provided, along with one complimentary drink.
The day concludes with a refined five-course Icelandic dinner at Ylja restaurant, highlighting seasonal ingredients and modern Nordic cuisine techniques. Vegan options are available.
