Slakki Petting Zoo

Slakki is a family-friendly petting zoo and recreation area in Laugarás, close to the Golden Circle route. Visitors can meet a variety of farm animals and smaller animals up close, including goats, pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, birds, and other species. Alongside the animals, Slakki has indoor and outdoor activities for children, making it an easy stop for families exploring the Golden Circle.

A Family Stop on the Golden Circle
Slakki has been welcoming families in Laugarás since the early 1990s and combines a small petting zoo with activities designed primarily for younger visitors. The animal collection includes familiar farm animals as well as smaller domestic animals, birds, and Arctic foxes.
The location also makes Slakki easy to include without a major detour. Skálholt, Friðheimar and Laugarás Lagoon are nearby, while Geysir is approximately 20 minutes away by car.
