Þingvellir National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was the meeting place of Alþingi, Iceland’s historic parliament, founded in 930. The park also lies within the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, creating a dramatic landscape of fissures, cliffs, lava fields, and clear spring water.
