Overview

This private tour combines Iceland’s most iconic natural landmarks with carefully selected culinary experiences, offering a full-day journey through landscapes, local flavors, and contemporary Icelandic cuisine.

Your day begins at Þingvellir National Park, where you explore the historic and geological heart of Iceland before continuing to Laugarvatn Fontana for a unique geothermal food experience. Here, traditional Icelandic rye bread is baked underground using natural heat and served fresh with Icelandic trout.

The journey continues to the active geothermal field of Geysir, home to bubbling hot springs and erupting geysers, where you experience Iceland’s geothermal power firsthand as Strokkur sends boiling water high into the air at regular intervals.

During this part of the trip, guests will have the opportunity to sample fermented shark (hákarl), followed by a tasting of Brennavín (Icelandic schnapps), with Icelandic chocolate available afterward to cleanse the palate.

From Geysir, you travel to the dramatic Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial waters plunge into a deep canyon. Walking along the viewing platforms, you take in panoramic views of one of Iceland’s most powerful and iconic natural landmarks. We stop for lunch at Gullfoss café and enjoy traditional Icelandic lamb soup (vegan options available).

In the afternoon, you visit a local greenhouse, Friðheimar, where you can learn about sustainable food production in Iceland.

The experience continues at Laugarás Lagoon, where you unwind in naturally heated geothermal waters surrounded by Iceland’s quiet countryside. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and shower amenities are provided, along with one complimentary drink.

The day concludes with a refined five-course Icelandic dinner at Ylja restaurant, highlighting seasonal ingredients and modern Nordic cuisine techniques. Vegan options are available.

Itinerary

We pick you up from your accommodation.

Your journey begins at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland’s history and geology meet. Walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates while learning about the site’s cultural significance and dramatic natural setting.

Experience one of Iceland’s oldest culinary traditions as geothermal rye bread is unearthed from the hot black sand beside Lake Laugarvatn. Learn how geothermal heat has been used to bake the bread for generations before enjoying a tasting served warm with fresh Icelandic trout and butter.

At Gullfoss, glacial waters plunge into a deep canyon, creating one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. Enjoy panoramic views from multiple platforms before stopping for lunch at Gullfoss café, featuring traditional Icelandic lamb soup with vegan options available.

Explore the active geothermal field at Geysir, home to bubbling hot springs and erupting geysers. Watch Strokkur send boiling water high into the air every few minutes and experience Iceland’s geothermal forces up close. During this stop, guests also sample fermented shark (hákarl), followed by a tasting of Brennavín (Icelandic schnapps), with Icelandic chocolate available afterward to cleanse the palate.

The next stop is Friðheimar Greenhouse, where tomatoes are grown year-round using geothermal energy. Visitors are introduced to Icelandic greenhouse farming through a short and engaging presentation, explaining how geothermal energy makes it possible to grow fresh vegetables throughout the year despite Iceland’s cold climate and long winters.

Unwind at Laugarás Lagoon in naturally heated geothermal waters. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and one complimentary drink are included. This stop provides time for relaxation and recovery before the evening dining experience.

The day concludes with a refined five-course dinner highlighting seasonal ingredients and modern Nordic culinary techniques. Vegan options are available. This dining experience reflects Iceland’s contemporary food scene while honoring traditional influences.
