Overview

Golden Circle & Snowmobiling combines Iceland’s classic Golden Circle with an adventure on Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. Explore Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss before leaving the main sightseeing route and heading toward the glacier.

At Langjökull, professional glacier guides provide the equipment and instructions before you set out across the ice cap by snowmobile. The tour combines the history, geology, geothermal activity, and waterfalls of the Golden Circle with the chance to travel across one of Iceland’s largest glaciers. The Golden Circle sightseeing and transportation are private with your own guide and vehicle; the snowmobile activity on the glacier itself is operated as a shared group activity alongside other guests, led by professional glacier guides.

Itinerary

Meet your private guide at your accommodation and begin the journey from Reykjavík to the Golden Circle.

Explore Iceland’s historic parliament site and walk through the rift valley formed by the movement of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Continue to Haukadalur, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes among steaming vents, hot springs, and other geothermal features.

Visit Gullfoss and explore the viewpoints overlooking the powerful two-stage waterfall and Hvítá canyon.

Continue toward the highlands, where a monster truck takes you up to the glacier – an adventure in itself, so sit back and enjoy the ride. Meet your glacier guides, gear up, and receive a safety briefing before heading onto Langjökull for a snowmobile adventure. Ride across the glacier by snowmobile in a small group led by professional glacier guides and take in the vast ice-covered landscape of Iceland’s second-largest glacier.

Relax on the drive back to Reykjavík and arrive at your accommodation.
